Independent Catholic

Ordinariate

The Independent Catholic Ordinariate is a personal Ordinariate in the independent Catholic tradition without territorial jurisdiction, under the patronage of Saint Oscar Romero. We are deeply committed to progressive Catholic life framed through the lens of liberation theology.

Our Beliefs

As an independent Catholic institution we derive our theological, ecclesial, liturgical and canonical understanding of ourselves from the larger Catholic tradition remaining part of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church with theological and pastoral praxis found in the Old Catholic Churches and Independent Sacramental Movement. We are formed by Decree of the Governing Council, who have established an Apostolic Constitution and Canons.

Our Ordinary
